Setting long-term life goals can do more harm than good
t does this in various ways, but let’s focus on one today.
As soon as you set a goal, all your life turns into the process of achieving it.
The present becomes a rehearsal for the future – a prelude, a preparation.
You put your life on hold until you reach your goal.
Today is just a step toward a happy tomorrow.
But as Marcus Aurelius said, life is just a brief moment we call ‘now.
The goal of life is life itself.
The goal of life is to have a meaningful life today, not 10 years from now.
Set a goal – to live a meaningful, happy life here and now, and you’ll see how hard it is.
Next time, we’ll discuss why setting life goals is nothing but an attempt to cut corners.
Stay tuned.
