We’re malfunctioning computers running outdated software

And that’s the good news

Our ‘computers’ – our bodies – are imperfect. They malfunction, get broken, and let us down. But here is the thing – we didn’t create them.

We didn’t choose our software, either.

Evolution, genes, parents, schoolteachers, and even the books on our shelves programmed us.

Thousands of factors affect our lives – from the neighbor’s barking dog next door to the guy in the White House.

You might be surprised if you count how many decisions you’ve made yourself in your life.

If you made all the decisions yourself, would you be where you are now?

What do we really choose in our lives except the wine for dinner?

Should we despair? Not at all. Should we despair when we plan a picnic, but it rains?

That’s the good news.

We can put these things out of our minds and concentrate on what we can control – and on our loved ones.
